PKK Terror Group Continues Operations in Europe
The document, titled The European Union Terrorism Situation and Trend Report (EU TE-SAT) 2025, highlights how the group continued its fundraising, recruitment, and propaganda activities within the region.
According to the report, 27 arrests were made across the EU in 2024 for offenses related to ethno-nationalist and separatist terrorism. Of these, 15 were connected to individuals primarily associated with the PKK.
"The PKK continued its significant presence across the EU, engaging in political advocacy, fundraising, recruitment, and propaganda dissemination," the report stated, underscoring the group's continued influence.
The study emphasizes the PKK's ability to blend both legal and illegal methods to sustain its operations.
It noted that the terror group uses a combination of political mobilization and covert financial and recruitment activities to maintain its influence over the Kurdish diaspora.
These operations are not limited to public campaigns but also involve clandestine activities.
Additionally, the report pointed out that the PKK raises substantial funds, estimating over EURO30 million (USD34.7 million) annually through its various fundraising initiatives across Europe.
"The PKK also continued to engage in illicit financial practices such as money laundering, extortion, and fraud," the report concluded, further illustrating the group's illicit financial network.
