Grown frustration of victims with Epstein’s case
Annie Farmer shared her frustration over how the issue has recently been handled by U.S. President Donald Trump and the backlash it triggered from his political supporters. She described the experience as emotionally draining.
She said the case has been overtaken by political agendas and sensationalism, with very little new or helpful information coming to light. This, she said in an interview on Monday, has left her feeling “used.”
“There are people who have used this to their advantage and tried to focus on elements of it that are sensational,” she stated.
Still, Farmer emphasized that the crimes were real and left lasting impacts.
“Those victims are people with feelings that are trying to live their everyday lives, and this can feel like a real weight falling on us,” she said.
Annie and her sister, Maria Farmer, were the first known individuals to report Epstein’s abuse, reaching out to both the NYPD and FBI in 1996. Today, Maria is suing the federal government for what she alleges was a failure to protect victims due to negligence.
Over the years, Annie Farmer said the only measure of justice she’s seen came through Maxwell’s conviction.
She remains deeply doubtful about how the Trump administration has managed the case, criticizing its inconsistent messaging—from promises to declassify information, to later claiming no documents existed, and then announcing intentions to release grand jury material.
