One Killed, Five Injured in Russian Strike on Ukraine

(MENAFN) At least one person is dead and five others wounded after Russian forces carried out overnight and morning strikes targeting infrastructure in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region on Tuesday, Ukrainian officials confirmed.

The assault struck an infrastructure facility in the city of Kryvyi Rih, according to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city's military administration, who first disclosed the attack via Telegram.

"Another enemy strike on an infrastructure facility. As of now, unfortunately, one man has been killed and one wounded," he later announced.

The injury toll subsequently climbed, with Dnipropetrovsk Governor Oleksandr Hanzha confirming in a separate statement that five people had been wounded in total.

"Medics are providing all necessary assistance to the injured," Hanzha added.

The strikes unfolded against the backdrop of a large-scale overnight drone offensive. Ukraine's Air Force reported that its air defense systems intercepted 95 of the 123 drones launched by Russia — leaving nearly two dozen unmanned aerial vehicles to breach Ukrainian defenses and reach their targets.
