Iran's Araghchi Set for China Visit

(MENAFN) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to travel to the Chinese capital Beijing on Tuesday for high-level talks spanning both regional flashpoints and global affairs, a state broadcaster reported.

Araghchi will also hold dedicated discussions on bilateral relations with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, according to the outlet, which described the visit as part of "ongoing diplomatic consultations with various countries."

The trip arrives at a moment of acute geopolitical strain, as Tehran continues to navigate the fallout from a joint US-Israeli military offensive launched against Iran in February — an operation that has sharply intensified hostilities between Iran and Washington in the months since.

The Beijing visit signals Tehran's intent to deepen engagement with key global partners as it seeks to shore up diplomatic backing amid sustained Western pressure. China, a longtime economic and strategic partner of Iran, is widely seen as a critical counterweight to Washington's influence in the region.
