Residential Building in Oman Damaged in Incident Amid Rising Tensions

(MENAFN) Two people were injured after a residential building in northern Oman was struck, according to the official Oman News Agency, as reported on Monday.

A security source cited by the agency said the targeted structure, located in the Tebat area of Bukha in northern Oman, was being used to house company employees. The strike resulted in moderate injuries to two expatriates.

The incident also caused additional damage, including destruction of four vehicles and broken windows in a nearby home, according to the report. Authorities have launched an investigation through the relevant agencies to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.

No immediate confirmation was provided regarding the origin of the strike. However, the event comes amid heightened regional tensions, following reports that the UAE detected multiple cruise missiles launched from Iran, with several intercepted over territorial waters and another falling into the sea.

The situation further escalated after a drone strike attributed to Iran reportedly caused a large fire in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, according to official local statements.

Tensions in the wider region have been rising since earlier military actions involving the US and Israel against Iran, which were followed by Iranian retaliation targeting Israel and allied Gulf states, alongside disruptions affecting maritime activity in the Strait of Hormuz.

Additional developments include reported US naval measures affecting Iranian maritime movement in the area. Meanwhile, ceasefire efforts have been attempted through regional mediation and diplomatic talks, though no lasting agreement has yet been reached, according to reports.
